Message of support for the city of Wuhan

Commentary

On behalf of the New Zealand China Council, I express my support to the city and people of Wuhan during the difficulties presented by the coronavirus outbreak.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the outbreak and the authorities working to address the serious public health challenges which have emerged.

China is an important partner for New Zealand, and we have a number of cultural and economic ties with the city of Wuhan.  I look forward to seeing these ties continue to develop in the future.

Sir Don McKinnon
Chairman, New Zealand China Council.
